Board the Fjord 2017

Board the Fjord is Deep Cove's Premier Stand Up Paddleboard Event. We have a full day of racing and festivities in beautiful Deep Cove and Indian Arm.
The scenic race course takes paddlers around 7 different islands in North America's southern most fjord. The race is open to recreational and competitive paddlers and we encourage everyone to come out and challenge themselves at this great event!

We will have a great variety of draw prizes and some awards for top finishers in numerous categories

Long Course: Approx 14km. Categories: Mens and Womens:  12'6, 14'


Short Course: Approx: 7km - Categories: Mens and Womens: 14', 12'6" and <12' Surfboard Class

Rec Course: Approx: 4km - Categories: Mens and Womens: 14', 12'6" and <12' Surfboard Class

Kids Race: <1km
Cost

Register Online by July 17th $60 plus GST
Register Online by August 17th: $70 plus GST
Register Online by September 17th: $80 plus GST
Register the day of the race: $90 plus GST

Kids Race is Free!
*All race entries include food ticket, drink ticket, draw prize entry, pre-race package
**First 100 racers will receive a numbered race shirt!
***Racers to register prior to August 8th will receive a custom jersey with their name printed on it

Board Rentals
$25 to rent a board for the race. Relay Race boards will be provided
Deep Cove Kayak Centre and Starboard will be providing board rentals, for a full list of available boards please call 604-929-2268.
Tentative Schedule
8:00am: Check-in Starts
10:00am: Pre-race meeting
11:15am: Long and Short Course Races Start
12:30pm: Food and drinks after the race
1:30pm: Kids Race and Relays
3:00pm: Awards
Race Rules
All participants must have a PFD and use a LEASH during the race.  If you are not wearing your PFD you must have it securely strapped onto your board and you must carry 15m of buoyant heaving line as per Transport Canada Regulations.

If you choose to draft you can only draft racers in the same board class and gender as you.  For example, Men on 14' boards can only draft other men on 14' boards. This rule will be self-governed.
